I have Early -Onset ALZ. That has limited my ability to learn songs, but I still love to sing. So if you notice me looking toward my screen, it to see the words I can't remember. I decide to record as many as I could and put them up for my wife and kids and grandkids, as this is how they have always seen me and always remember me, Singing. I get out of bed singing...LOL

Hi Jim, it took years for anyone to believe me. I am 43. It is so hard to get anyone to see a disease that you cant see physically. They kept saying it may have been stress or depression. I had pushed and pushed for years and finally drs said why would you want to know if you have it, I said so I can fight the progression and live knowing the changes. I finally found out that i have the genetic early onset alzheimer's disease. Now that i know, i dont give up. Quite the opposite . I plan, live , and make sure my child understands what is going to happen. She is 23. Drs really need to listen to what we are saying about the changes that we first start seeing as not just stress and accept the fact that we can and do get it early. If they could really see that then maybe they can work at different ways of ttying to solve or cure it. They are blind to reality of it hitting people who are in their 40s and 50s. I had to fight the hardest fight of my life when i had to leave my job due to the fact of safety and be able to get the assistance of SS that i had worked for my whole working career. I do hope that one day the medical community opens their eyes to this debilitating disease hitting so many at younger ages , be it genetic or not. Hopefully you will continue to thrive through the on coming years. I am glad you arent giving up. I know i won't without a fight. Take care.

I as well know exactly what you're going thru as I was diagnosed at the age of 56, the hardest thing I had to do was tell my children, it took me a month before I could get up the strength to do so. I have 3 Daughters 26,30 and 33 and one son 30 and a 7 year old grandson. I am on Aricept right now and has been working so far, I'm just doing all I can to buy time till there is a cure.
